British Columbia Day Long Weekend
This Monday, August 6th is a Civic Holiday! The Civic Holiday is celebrated on the first Monday of August and it’s a public holiday in some provinces and territories. The Civic Holiday is known by many names in different provinces and municipalities, but is most common known as the August Long Weekend. Here in BC, we refer to the day off as “British Columbia Day”.

Honda Celebration of Light – August 4, Second Beach during the day, English Bay at night
Pride Festival & Parade – August 5, 11 am – 6 pm, Robson Street & Sunset Beach
Highlights for families: Take in the Parade from 12-3pm and then enjoy the Sunset Beach festival 11 am – 6 pm. At the festival, there’s a family fun zone set up with kids activities and fun for the whole family.
BC Day at Grouse Mountain – August 6, Grouse Mountain
Highlights for families: Get up close with our resident BC Grizzly bears, Grinder and Coola, in their five acre mountaintop sanctuary.
