It is a stark reminder that things can change in an instant and we should all make an effort to be as prepared as possible.
Last year Vancouver saw some pretty extreme weather, like the windstorm that cut power to most of East Vancouver for a couple days and closed down Stanley Park.
We also saw the effects of forest fires last year (pictured above, the view from SoMa) so keeping in mind that it is only May we should all visit the Government of Canada site on what we can do to get prepared.
